Charting a new course at full sail
Alecton fosters the adoption of digital money and builds a range of
technological solutions to improve the financial experience.
Making waves
Distributed ledger technology including blockchain is changing the way
we manage our money, providing unprecedented transparency, security,
flexibility and speed. At the same time, distributed ledger technology
is an open ocean that hasn't been fully discovered. Scientists
estimate that 91% of ocean species have yet to be classified and that
more than 80% of our ocean is unmapped, unobserved, and unexplored.
Alecton
was founded by Mark Abramov in 2022 to contribute to the development
of a blockchain-powered financial system that will bring leverage back
to the people and combat outdated centralised and bureaucratic ways of
managing finance. Discovering new things along the way
For Alecton it’s important to approach existing problems differently.
By doing this, the team contribute to solving global challenges
related to creating a transparent financial infrastructure.

A special vessel for ocean explorations
French corvette Alecton encounters gigantic squid
Frédéric
Bouyer, Édouard Riou
1866/1867.
Ocean explorations have never been possible without special vessels
and Alecton was one of the first. It was a ship in the French Navy in
the 19th century. She is most famous for having been one of the first
surface vessels recorded to have encountered a giant squid, which was
known as Architeuthis.
The Alecton encounter was the inspiration for the giant squids
attacking the submarine in Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea, a
classic science fiction novel by French writer Jules Verne, published
in 1870.
